RUN DAN RUN

Run Dan Run are an indie rock quartet from Charleston, South Carolina. They released their debut album "Basic Mechanics", in 2007, which included a heartfelt mixture of both mellow electronica tunes and classic, indie rock choruses. Not much has come out of South Carolina that matches the touching obscurity like Run Dan Run. Their melodies take on a sense of child-like wonder, but their talent is far from child-like.

Their new EP, "27 Coming St." was recorded in Dan McCurry's living room on a Sunday evening last October, in 1-2 takes. It shows a fully acoustic side to Run Dan Run that was only shown in glimpses on their debut album, but now allows us to fully comprehend as one whole, beautifully arranged EP. 200 hand-pressed copies are available at their shows and Hearts and Plugs, and the EP will also be available on iTunes in the near future.

Run Dan Run will also be touring the east coast for their new EP, mostly in New York and Brooklyn. They're  hitting the road eco-friendly, ditching the old band-in-a-van road trip and taking only public transport with one acoustic instrument each. Maybe you'll see them on the train, who knows? Check out the winter tour dates, and then download my personal favorite track off of the EP, "Wasted Love".
